Information about How to Install Oracle RAC 10gR4 Database Home Patch
This document will describe how to Patch Database Home to 10gR4 on Oracle RAC. You must follow the Prerequisite Information below in order.

All these Sections must be complete before installing Database Home Patch on RAC Servers

  • Database Patch Software Location: /mymntOracle/software/rdbms/patchset/10.2.0.4/linux_64bit/Disk1
How to Install Oracle RAC 10gR4 DB Home Patch
  1. Login with VNC Viewer to Node 1 as Oracle User
  2. Change directory to Database 10.2.0.4 Patch Software Location
  3. Launch OUI Database Patch Installer GUI
    • > ./runInstaller
  4. At the Database Welcome Screen click Next
  5. At the Database Patch Specify Home Details screen, change to the Database Location and click Next
  6. At the Database Specify Hardware Cluster  screen Verify that all Nodes are listed, then click Next.
  7. At the DB-Patch Product-Specific Checks screen, Verify Overall Result Passed then click Next  to continue
  8. At the DB-Patch Configuration Manager Registration screen, click Next  to continue.
  9. At the DB-Patch Summary screen, click Install to continue.

  11. At the  Configuration Warning screen, click yes to continue. You will be prompted a 2nd time as well, click Yes again to continue.
  12. At the DB-Patch Execute Configuration Scripts screen, run the scripts as root on each node, then click OK to continue.


    [root@srv0dbxd11 ~]# /u00/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/DB/root.sh
    Running Oracle10 root.sh script...

    Entries will be added to the /etc/oratab file as needed by
    Database Configuration Assistant when a database is created
    Finished running generic part of root.sh script.
    Now product-specific root actions will be performed.
  13. At the DB-Patch End of Installation screen, click Exit then click Yes to exit.

  14. When Database Patching is complete, return to Linux Oracle RAC Installation Guide to begin Section 8: How To Configure Oracle ASM Disks for Virtual Servers and have System Administrator complete..
