Try OpenShift on Your Laptop

If you are new too or are wondering about OpenShift, Red Hat offers open source project called OpenShift Origin. They have made available vmdk and other VM images so you can run it in VirtualBox or VMware workstation on your laptop. Or any other virtual environment.

I downloaded the virtual disk and had OpenShift up and running. It's a good way to get a quick overview of OpenShift. However, I'd also highly suggest following the guide to perform manual installation.
